Hottest day so far today!
Sorry I’ve not updated for a while - net problems, work and generally sunning myself inbetween has taken up a lot of time!
Our mate Alan has been over for a visit since Saturday and luckily, pretty much every day has been good - give or take the odd bit of cloud cover - and it’s been a really nice few days!
Al and Mike found the equivalent of a block of flats for lizards a few days ago and showed it to me today. It’s a construction site and the bits where they’ve drilled through for pipes or supports or whatever, lizards have moved in. We saw them on the way back from the beach today all sitting in their little ‘flats’, sunning themselves
Anyway, today Mike and Al did some ‘fishing’… but caught diddly squat. They’ve tempted the fish with bread, hot dogs, crisps… all sorts but nada. Not a whiff of a fish anywhere but apparently, when they were on the beach yesterday - I was at the apartment - the sea was so millpond calm, they could actually see shoals of fish right on the surface. The birds must’ve had a good dinner!
So, here’s a little vid I made of today’s beach marathon! We got down there about 10am and didn’t leave ’til about 5pm. It was red hot and so I kept getting nominated to sit in the sea with bottles of coke and my lager to cool it down! It wasn’t like it was a tough assignment mind you…
And Dr Cooke? If you get round to reading this, you’d be proud of me! Swimming, walking miles - much of it uphill - and eating healthy seafood, rice etc., so I’m losing weight too! You won’t recognise me for the sad sack I was in the UK when you last saw me
I’ll try to keep up the blog more regularly but ’til next time, hope you’re all ok!
